Geek Look Ahead:


  • Weekends in May are host to Passport DC for Embassies. This event opens many embassies for folks to look inside and experience cultural foods, music, and crafts.
  • May 5 should be a beautiful day for Yoga on the Mall, a free event where thousands of yogis do their thing together.
  • May 11 is the annual Sweetlife Festival / Concert, hosted by Sweetgreen. It’ll be at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Tickets are $75 and up.
  • On May 13 at DAR constitution hall there will be a seminar called Guts and Glory: an Evening with Anthony Bourdain. Tickets are $45 and up.
  • NEW! National Asian Heritage Festival -May 18, 2013, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with an Asian street fair in the heart of DC. Enjoy live entertainment and interactive displays.
  • NEW! DC Dragon Boat Festival May 18-19-20, featuring features dragon boat races on the Potomac River, cultural performances and hands-on activities.
  • NEW! Taste of Arlington May 19, 2013, noon-5 pm on Wilson Boulevard.
  • There’s always things to do for Memorial Day Weekend.



  • Bronycon will be in Baltimore this year, the week before….
  • Otakon will be late this year: August 9 – 11, 2013 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD.


  • September 21st we will host National Red Bull Flugtag at the National Harbour! Want to fly? They’re taking applications through June 1. Follow updates @FlugtagUSA

Cutting Back on Posts – Tumblr Going strong!

Due to low viewership on this blog, plus my lack of free time, I am making this a monthly blog. I will update the future geeky event calendar when I find new items of interest. I may also make a Google Calendar – would this be of interest/better than a static list on WordPress?
