Being Social: the Weekend of 3.16.12

16 Mar
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Weekend!  There will be too much for one to do this weekend, if you enjoy imbibing with others clad in green.
From Tuscan happy hours to Shamrocks & Shenanigans and everything in between, there’s tone to go out and do. Other specials include Fado marks the occasion with Paddython, a day of rugby, Irish dancers, and live music beginning at 8 a.m., with a cover of $10; Rumors will sell beers for as cheap as $1.17; P.J. Clarke’s will have pints of Guinness and Harp for $4;and if you choose to celebrate St. Patrick’s day with alcohol, designate a driver or call WRAP’s SoberRide at 1-800-200-TAXI.

After moths of waiting, this weekend The Art of Video Games, which exhibits video games voted on by fans, will open at the American Art Museum.  It starts with lectures by famous developers (many are sold out, though they will be livestreamed!), a GameFest, and video game movies like King of Kong.  If you haven’t seen it, go.  It’s so dorkfully win.

Also, the 20th Annual Environmental Film Festival runs through Sunday, March 25, if you’re into earth-friendly, tug-your-heartstrings films. [theDistrict]
